Textile artist Eva Sonaike On Making A House A Home

To celebrate our latest Townhouse Collection of home candles inspired by our Georgian Townhouse we’re snooping round the homes of craftspeople we admire. Textile artist and Creative Director Eva Sonaike invited us into her North London home where she explores the relationship between the world of art and the influence of heritage in making a house a home.

Born in Germany to Nigerian parents, Eva grew up in the Black Forest and moved to London to pursue a career in journalism before recognising her true passion for textile design. Founding her eponymous interiors label in 2009, her bold aesthetic and modern sensibility has established her a loyal following. Eva draws on her personal experiences and cultural influences combining the vibrancy of West African colour palettes and print with mid-century European touches. The approach in her own home is much the same, with the addition of scent ensuring her home covers all sensorial elements, to feel like a true sanctuary to escape to.
